FROG TUNES TOP CHARTS

collection of Australian frogs making music recently landed on the ARIA Album charts taking on artists including Taylor Swift. The ‘Songs of Disappearance’ featured various croaks, screams and moans by over 43 different frog species. The 50-minute soundscape was created by musicians, Anthony Albrecht and Simone Slattery with the intent to raise awareness and funds for the Australian Museum’s FrogID project. Lead scientist, Dr Jodi Rowley, hopes hearing the threatened species will “ignite the spark in people to make sure that future generations can hear these calls.” The 2021 ‘Songs of Disappearance’ playlist included various bird calls and reached the top five on the ARIA Charts.
