How to… MAKE MONEY FROM HORSES
WHETHER you set out to become a coach or end up coaching as a by-product of riding and competing, it’s a job that requires endless development. Amy Blount is a dressage coach based in Hampshire. She knew she wanted to teach while at school, and has steadily built a career centred around progressing her clients’ skills.
“I wanted to do horses, but I loved helping people, so I did freelance teaching before I took my British Horse Society (BHS) preliminary teaching test and stage three exams,” she says. “I then moved to Catherston Stud where my focus was riding, but I ended up helping fellow staff and coaching the liveries too.”
An injury gave Amy the time to further her coaching skills and enrol on the British Dressage Coaching
