Is Benetti still your first customer?
Business practice and curiosity towards new themes you cannot face with one brand led us to highly differentiate our clients. We are developing the whole Ocean Alexander range, Tankoa, Alfa Custom, Cigarette and several private clients. I’m keen on pointing out we do not have overlapping products. Some might be similar in size, never in materials or type of products. And the yard’s stylistic print is always visible. I don’t think designers have to be unmistaken in their lines, it’s nice and fair to recognize his hand, but what matter’s is the yard’s style.
Is the designer an artist?
He isn’t, no. He might have something of an artist, but we are mainly product development counsellors, be it for yards or private customers. We need to interpret the customer’s needs, pushing him to get more than he expects. Innovation is the designer’s responsibility.
