Launched in 2010, the Tiger 800 lineup of adventure bikes has been an absolute winner for British motorcycle brand Triumph. It offers a range of road- and off-road-oriented variants to give riders a choice of bikes to suit their ADV riding requirements.
Powered by Triumph’s ever-popular inline triple-cylinder engine design, which in this case was derived from the Triumph Daytona 675 road bike, the Tiger 800s have come in standard (more road-biased) and XC (more off-road-biased) models, with the prime difference being wheels and running gear. The first ‘standard’ Tiger model had cast alloy wheels, with a 19-inch up front and 17-inch out back. The Tiger 800 XC, meantime, was fitted with spoked wheels with alloy rims, with a larger 21-inch hoop up front for more confident off-road handling and performance.
The Tiger 800 XC also had longer-travel suspension, with 45mm forks up front compared to the 43mm units on
