AS I write this, we are experiencing the coldest December on record so far here on my farm. It’s cold and simply awful. Wet and cold, then dry and very cold, and now for the past ten days, snow and very cold. I am sorry to tell you, but this has cut a swathe through this year’s Castlemilk lambs; so far I have lost six lambs to the cold. I am very upset.
The worst is the inevitability of it all.
