SMASH THE DISCOS

On first viewing ‘STD’ (a bit awkward I know) very much reminds me of the race/cutdown/customs of the 80s and early 90s.

I’m well aware that there’s a trend towards keeping things original these days (be it restorations or rustorations) but my scootering schooling was dominated by chops and cutdowns. No, they aren’t particularly practical, comfortable or even in most cases environmentally friendly but I still love ’em! And to be honest it’s nice to see this type of genre back in the limelight.

Following on from a very. This comes from lively South London punk/Oi band The Business, one of Scott’s favourites. The group had a dedicated following, and unlike many others tried to keep out of the left/right political debate. They even headlined at a couple of major scooter events in the 80s, DISC 86 and the infamous IoW bonfire of the same year; let’s just leave that there!
