BEAD SHACK IS OWNED by Kerry Dove and has been operating for more than four years. Its foundations however were put in place 20 years ago when one Aunty Merle sat her great niece down in front of a pile of beads.
“We were at a family gathering,” explains Kerry, “and she set all the kids up at a table with a whole lot of beads, wires and sequins, and then encouraged them to ‘go for it!’ Most of the kids spent 10 minutes at the table but my eldest daughter Erin just stayed there”.
This was the beginning of a beading obsession which captured the whole family. Erin is now an established beader and teacher of beading. She
