“Twenty years ago, indigenous gardening was hardly the buzzword it is now. Nowadays, biodiversity, rewilding and regenerative gardening has moved to the fore.”
Gardening 20 years on by Jenny Dean
hen I began writing for The Gardener magazine 20 years ago, it was leaves with silvery undersides and ginger freckles; butterballs () with flowers that open yellow and close maroon; the puzzle bush () our local ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’ with subtle fragrance and lilac blooms; and last but not least orange bird berry () with vitamin-C rich little orange balloons much loved by mousebirds and bulbuls. There was, and still is, much to share.
