RMS progresses Longport duty

THE recent renaissance of the RMS Locotec Class 08 fleet continued during December with the release of No. 08523 from long-term and extensive engine repairs at Wolsingham.

The locomotive was last used back in mid-2019 and was brought south from Inverness for attention in September that year. Road transport arrived on December 8 to transfer the shunter to the Electro-Motive Diesels (EMD) depot at Longport, Stoke, where RMS Locotec was due to displace Railway Support Services (RSS) as the shunter provider as 2022 ended.
