The only known cover featuring an 1856 Provisional 4 cents black on blue stamp, one of the rarest issues of British Guiana, was recently sold at David Feldman. The stamp, printed on surface glazed paper, featured the initials of postal clerk Wight ‘EDW’, was cut octagonally with good margins all around, and was described as being an ‘outstanding quality example’.
