YUZURU HANYU MAKES PROFESSIONAL DEBUT

A little more than three months after announcing he was leaving the competitive circuit, Yuzuru Hanyu made his professional debut on Nov. 4 at a show in Yokohama.

Produced by the Japanese superstar, “Prologue” (a nod to the next chapter of his career) was a solo showcase of six performances that left the sold-out audience of 7,900 in tears.

Hanyu opened the 90-minute gala evening by telling the audience he would show them a documentary, a reflection on his life so far. He then went into a six-minute warm-up, just as he would if he were at a competition.
