DEADLY DIRT ROAD

Ian Francis Jamieson had a cordial relationship with his neighbours, Peter and Mary Lockhart, when they first moved across the road from him in 2006.

Jamieson allowed the couple to graze sheep on his property in Wedderburn, Victoria, and the Lockhart’s helped rebuild his home after it was destroyed by fire in 2009.

But animosity began to grow between the neighbours over the use of a dirt road adjoining Jamieson’s property.

Peter often used the track to access a dam with his water truck, which Jamieson claimed made dust “pollute” his water.
