The third man

To begin this feature, we have to go back a few decades. Sébastien Godet, now in his 40s, started to become interested in VWs when he was 16-years old. Having a penchant for old cars already, he participated in his first VW meeting, the VW National, which at the time took place on the famous Le Mans race circuit.

Being too young to drive at that point, he went there as a spectator, but that first excursion into the world of air-cooled Volkswagens left an indelible mark. So much so that, at the age of 18, with his driver’s licence in his pocket, Sébastien bought his first Beetle, or Cox as they are playfully known in France, a mildly modified 1974 1200.
