Why?
Enjoying the natural beauty and peace of the North Wales coast and mountains
Normally, as darkness falls when we’re at a campsite, we’re thinking about retreating indoors, perhaps with a game of Uno or a good book. But not tonight. Instead, we are sitting outside, witnessing the glorious moon rising over the bay, just yards from our pitch.
The scene constantly changes while it reaches its full height and as the reflection over the water lengthens and brightens, I can’t draw my eyes away. It is magical – and free! Okay, I had to pay for the bottle of wine I was enjoying at the same time, but this is camping as I love it best.
My husband, Ro, our dog Willow and I were at Dwyros Campsite, just above Aberdaron on the western tip of the beautiful Llŷn Peninsula.
