As the afternoon blended into evening, students walking home from school bustled by and shoppers and workers hopped on and off trams.
It was 9 November 2018, just another Friday evening on a busy Melbourne street.
Nestled in the central banking district, cafes, restaurants and bars lined the pavement ready to provide coffee, a quick meal or an after-work drink.

But suddenly, an explosion blasted out of nowhere.
