Neels and Chanelle Bodenstein chose a vasectomy as a birth control method without any hesitation.
“Two children were enough, and Neels was going to get a vasectomy. We were content with our two boys. Adin was 3 months old, and Justin 2 years old,” says Chanelle of the time the decision was made.
However, the Bodenstein family heard life-changing news in May 2013, shortly afterwards. Little Justin was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Normally only adults get it, and it is an aggressive form of cancer. Sadly, only one month later, in June 2013, Justin passed away just before his third birthday.
