It’s easy to assume that running a scooter dyno is all about big exhausts, monster engines, and huge horsepower tuning. Obviously, there’s a lot of that, but on a day-to-day basis there’s far more ‘bread and butter’ basics than you’d imagine. Some of the most rewarding gains I see on the dyno are when an engine has been incorrectly set up. Sometimes just a few simple tweaks can make a world of difference. This month, I had three classic examples of this, so I’ll explain what was wrong on each and what changes were made to get things set up properly.
