Many of my visits to Africa have been to join a safari. Indeed, this is what a large part of the continent is known for – wild and untamed, with unsurpassable animal sightings. Go way down to the extreme southern coast and you’ll not only find this in Addo National Park, but also be able to join South Africa’s Garden Route: a 200-kilometre stretch of the country covering everything from surf beaches and wilderness areas to soaring canyons and placid lakes.
