Well known for his excellent Mini restorations, including high-value Works rally Minis, he is very much into restoring Minis to be just as they came out of the factory and as they were used in their day, rather than making them into supershiny concours show-stoppers. In fact, with this Pick-up, which is his own rather than a customer’s car, he took great care to get the Willow Green (GN33) paint looking less than perfect. “I tried to keep it looking orange-peely like the factory paint. I didn’t flat it and polish it at all. It’s painted in two-pack.
