Free software Best of the year: 9 free plugins!

It’s a very special end of the year issue and we’re celebrating all things 2022 by giving away some of our best bits – in this case, it’s nine of the best of our free plugins of 2022!

As you very probably know, here at Computer Music we are big on giving away tools to make your music production efforts easier. Our very own Computer Music Plugin Suite of tools has become world famous, and we’re celebrating it in this issue by giving away some of the additions made to it this year.

Back in June we had one of the biggest overhauls to the Suite ever. In reality this was more out of necessity rather than something we’d been looking forward to doing, thanks to many of the older plugins becoming either too clunky or simply not working on the latest operating systems This was particularly problematic for Mac users, with the shift to 64-bit only, and authentication issues for the last couple of OS versions…

However, this didn’t stop us updating the Suite, and here we present you with nine of the best additions to it from the last year. Included in the nine, we have JMG’s Hyperspace CM2 (a fantastic reverb), the brilliant Hornet Multicomp CM compressor, plus Dopesonix Beat Machines 1, 2 and 3. There’s pretty much everything you need to produce great music: synths, beats and effect plugins!

Remember, the CM Suite is available online (this month you can find it at bitly.com/cm317downloads) and all you need to get the plugins is your copy of Computer Music.

As ever, if you like the CM versions of these plugins, why not take a look at the developer sites for more information on any other versions? Enjoy this nine-plugin giveaway – we think it’s

Hard Harmonies
It might feel like a relatively new concept within the production psyche, but the process that we describe as ‘hard-tuning’ has been around for nearly 30 years. Back in 1997, audio software company Antares released a new piece of software which it ca
