This year marks Oscar Pistorius’ eighth festive season behind bars for shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, but he’ll be eligible for parole next year, which means this time next year he’ll likely be back home.
But for Reeva’s parents, Barry (79) and June (76) Steenkamp, Christmas is just another reminder of the fact their daughter – shot three times through the bathroom door at Oscar’s upmarket Pretoria home on Valentine’s Day 2013 – will never be coming home again.
