I first visited this event in the early part of this century and very much enjoyed my visit and that led me to bring various groups back to enjoy it ever since. I have come by coach, car and by plane and the latter mode of transport I used in 2022, accompanied by a keen fan of single-cylinder tractors and the continental way of life for many decades, ‘Badger’ (81) who comes from the Home Counties.
As always it was a lively adventure booking our flights - booking early saved us much, but car hire has gone through the roof and cost us £150 for three days for our hybrid Fiat 500 when in years gone by it would have cost us £63. The flight was on time from Stansted, but there are plenty of other places that fly to Toulouse. In fact this was my 30th visit to this airport when I look back over the years, but even then we still got lost heading to the car hire stands placed in the car parks!
On arrival the weather was dull and overcast, but the prospect for the weekend was good, but the French refinery workers were on strike and there was a
