Like the classical masterpieces following our four seasons, birdsong changes over a year – from the ecstatic and constant chorus of summer warblers to the sombre notes of winter waterfowl. It’s wildlife’s own symphony rising and falling, but you will always hear those special pings that hint of something different. Over the years, I have spent thousands of hours in wetlands waiting, watching… and listening.
