Anderson Center Artist Residencies

The 2023 General Artist Residency Program offers residencies of two weeks or one month during July, September, October, and November to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View, a 350-acre historic estate in Red Wing, Minnesota. A private room, studio space, and all meals are provided. Using only the online application system, submit a writing sample of up to 10 pages; a résumé, curriculum vitae, or biographical statement; artist and community engagement statements; and a work plan with a $20 application fee by January 16. The 2023 Emerging Artist Residency Program, supported by the Jerome Foundation, offers four-week residencies in August to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View. Emerging writers and translators who are residents of Minnesota or New York City are eligible to apply. Residents are provided with a private room, meals, and studio space, as well as a travel stipend and an honorarium of $625 per week. Using only the online application system, submit a writing sample of up to 10 pages; a résumé, curriculum vitae, or bio-graphical statement; artist, emerging artist, and community engagement statements; and a work plan by January 16. Association of Writers & Writing Programs Conference and Bookfair

The 2023 AWP Conference and Bookfair will be held from March 8 to March 11 at the Seattle Convention Center in Washington and will also include a virtual component comprising prerecorded and livestreamed events. The conference features panel discussions, readings, discussion rooms, and a bookfair. Novelist Min Jin Lee will give the keynote address. Prior to March 7, the cost of the conference for in-person preregistration, including all virtual programming and content, is $350 for nonmembers, $250 for members, $100 for seniors, and $65 for students. The cost for in-person, on-site registration, including all virtual programming and content, is $540 for nonmembers, $435 for members, $175 for seniors, and $150 for students. The cost of virtual-only preregistration, prior to March 7, is $75 for nonmembers and $60 for members; the cost of virtual-only registration from March 8 to March 11 is $85 for nonmembers and $70 for members.
