THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES

DIRECTOR FRANCIS LAWRENCE STARRING TOM BLYTH, RACHEL ZEGLER, VIOLA DAVIS, JASON SCHWARTZMAN ETA 17 NOVEMBER

Arriving eight years after Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss ended The Hunger returns audiences to Panem. Set 64 years before Katniss volunteered as tribute, it follows a young Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) and, as the franchise’s producer Nina Jacobson explains to has a totally new perspective. “The movies up until now are all from the point of view of the districts,” says Jacobson. “This film is through the eyes of the Capitol.” Snow himself is far from the opulent sadist we’re used to and is introduced as a young man “trying desperately to succeed and return his family to stability,” Jacobson explains. “He’s grown up during wartime, seen awful things and has doubts about humanity.”
