A safe start

I am delighted to hear that your father gave you a 20-bore side-by-side suitable for steel shot for Christmas and that you have a Fathers, Sons and Daughters driven day on 4 January. This is a big step forward in your career as a Shot and despite a couple of seasons going through with the beating line, many days of tuition at a shooting school with your old 28-bore and any amount of walking-up hedgerows, you are understandably nervous.
