LONGEVITY and variety make the 4t chaldron waggons (note the spelling), a compelling modelling subject to the point where its relevance to the D&E era was investigated to see if they could be included within these pages. The ingenuity and care that has gone into the design of the models deserves coverage. After all, waggons dating from pre-grouping railway companies which lasted into BR days are as relevant as the newest air-braked wagons.
