Sitting on his daddy’s shoulders, little William Caudwell squeals with excitement as he gazes up at the sparkling baubles adorning his family’s Christmas tree.
William has joined his philanthropist parents – entrepreneur John Caudwell and his partner Modesta Vzesniauskaite – and his half-siblings Scarlett, 20, and Jacobi, 18, who is with girlfriend Eavan Harrison, for HELLO!’s exclusive festive photoshoot and the 21-month-old toddler’s eyes are alight with wonder at the scene.
Standing more than 20ft tall, the tree in the great hall of their Jacobean manor house in Staffordshire is magnificent, matched by the equally exquisite decorations in the dining room.
However, says John, whose seventh child – a girl – is due next March, it’s being with his family, not fancy surroundings or expensive gifts, that makes Christmas magical.
“We’re planning an intimate family festive time,” he tells us. “Each year we try to get as many of us together as possible and there should be around a dozen of us at the table on Christmas Day.”
