FAREWELL ‘GRANNIE’

Just as she would have wanted, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign came to its conclusion without fuss nor fanfare and with the utmost grace. The beloved sovereign passed peacefully, aged 96, at her Balmoral estate in the Scottish Highlands on September 8, 2022 – making her the second longest-serving monarch in the world. “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother,” her son King Charles III said in a statement shortly after the news broke. “I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
