For too long, buyers of ‘small’ TVs have been starved of genuine flagship quality. They had to wait until 2020 for the first 48in OLED TV and, for some, 48 inches is still far too big for their living space. In 2022, that all changed. Samsung once again has a 43in flagship-quality QLED out, but even more significantly the first 42in OLEDs are now available in the form of LG’s 42in version of its new C2 model and, hot on its heels, Sony’s 42in A90K.

This is a heavier, thicker TV than its LG rival, but in many ways it’s more stylish with an extremely low-profile base that keeps the bottom edge of the TV as close as possible to the surface upon which it’s placed. If you
