It is a misplaced assumption that those who come from affluent or influential families have it easy. That somehow, their life is devoid of the pain and complications unlike that of those with simpler means and resources. Well, here’s news—no one remains untouched by the roller coaster that is the bane of human existence. Case in point: Indian television industry’s power couple Rubaina and Ravi Adhikari. As scions of the Gautam and Markand Adhikari clan—founders of television’s Sri Adhikari Brothers group. The couple has everything going for them, and yet their story is not devoid of tears. Now proud parents to little Raina, the duo trudged a weary path to get here. Read on to know more about how new mum Rubaina Adhikari circumvented the highs and lows of her parenting journey.

Based out of Mumbai, Rubaina is the wife of film director Ravi Adhikari, and is the daughter-in-law of media veteran Gautam Adhikari. But that is not her only claim to fame. Apart from handling production responsibilities at the group, she is a nutrition and fitness expert of repute and has garnered ample following as a wellness influencer. A fashionista and public figure, Rubaina dons many hats. But the role she enjoys the most currently is that of playing mommy to five-month-old Raina.

Akin to a soap opera, complete with tragedy and drama, Rubaina’s life had turned into a series of cliffhangers after every round of fertility treatment. She opens up to Mother and Baby about her reruns with failure until the Very Special Episode was aired in the form of her precious baby.

How I Met Your Mother

So where did it all begin? “Once upon a time, in the year 2000, the millennium year, while the world feared the Y2K bug, the love bug bit two doe-eyed teenagers,” remembers Rubaina wittily. “I was 14, and Ravi was 15. We went to the same tuitions where he fell for me,” she adds. “It was love at first sight for me, but Rubaina did not even know I existed,” butts in Ravi. “Being a shy guy, I could never gather enough guts to even say hello to her, leave alone express my feelings,” he says. Like most romantic couples, the duo had nothing in common. As Ravi puts it, “I was shy, and she was a snob. I liked Bollywood music,
