Hilo Trollers News

■ Hilo Trollers held their 2022 annual banquet and awards ceremony at Crazy Grandma’s on Sunday October 23. It began as a business meeting and some streamlining rules and program changes were put to the captains for a vote. I will report on those next month.

The 2023 Board was affirmed, and it comprises: President John Burns, Vice President C.J. Lewis, Treasurer Jason Cadoas, Secretary Kailina Lewis, Caleb Lewis, and Advisor Craig Severance.

There was a simplified and shortened program. The focus was on door prizes for all, and on the captains and crew who received Labor Day and year-end awards and the social recognition and honor that comes from their fishing skill. The awards are as follows:

– Largest Marlin: TAKOEYE, Captain Matt Castro and crew, 552.8 lbs

– Largest Gross Weight Marlin:, Captain Matt Castro and crew, 552.8 lbs
