Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
The game that changed everything. In 2007 Infinity Ward changed the gaming landscape forever with the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The COD series at that point was known as an authentic World War 2 shooter, perfecting the genre and becoming the best World War shooter on the market. Yet the formula was getting long in the tooth and the developers took a risk, and boy did it pay off. To this day Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is still seen as the best COD game ever made and for decades now developers have been trying to replicate the formula. With the release of the remastered version in 2016, gamers were once again reminded why the original Modern Warfare is still one of the greatest games ever made. If you are only going to play one COD game, then this is the one. An all-time classic.
