As seen in December’s Hotshots gallery (p42), the winners of the 15th edition of Landscape Photographer of the Year were recently announced. Celebrating the beauty of the British landscape, the competition has become a fixture in the photography calendar since being launched by landscape photographer Charlie Waite in 2007.

For some insights into its enduring success, we caught up with the man himself, now enjoying being able to travel again after the strictures of the Covid-19 lockdowns…
