In welcoming you to the first of 2023, I feel I must start by referring back to the December issue and the article on the Manchester to Bury line and its various electrifications, for I was transported back to my old home town and its trains… I was born and grew up in Bury and it was from there, in one of its electric trains to Manchester, that I took my very first railway journey.
