Catching a fish in excess of 100lb from British waters is a goal many sea anglers strive to achieve during their lifetime. Catching two or three different species of fish over 100lb in the waters around the UK is something very few anglers will ever succeed in doing. Many would think that increasing this to four species is nigh on impossible. Yet in 2011 this is exactly what Welsh specialist sea angler Mark Nelson achieved.
In reaching his goal Mark had achieved an exceptional feat of angling, something that very few anglers would emulate in a lifetime, let alone a single year. Mark’s tally included blue and porbeagle shark, common skate and, most impressively of all, conger.
