A year to remember

What an outstanding year 2022 was for British women shooting the Olympic disciplines in Europe and beyond. Every month heralded ever more impressive performances and a roll call of podium positions.

Let’s not forget the pair of Olympic quota places either, earned by the masterful Amber Hill and Lucy Hall, an incredibly gifted new arrival to senior-level shooting. We suspect that both are now brushing up on their French in time for Paris 2024.

So, why has 2022 been so special and what led up to these incredible performances? And what’s in store for 2023? Just as importantly, how can the sport persuade more women to take part and, perhaps, see more future successes? We ask a performance director, a coach and an athlete.
