FEED EIGHT PEOPLE FOR £20 AT CHRISTMAS WITH OUR (DELICIOUS) COST OF LIVING DINNER

Ah, the joys of Christmas. A stack of crispy roast potatoes, sausage stuffing oozing with flavour, sweet parsnips and juicy carrots, the Brussels sprouts your nan piled on your plate, so much turkey you vow you cannot eat any more for at least 365 days, pigs in crispy blankets, all drizzled with gravy and a dollop of cranberry sauce. The mouth waters at the thought.

Christmas dinner has its staples, but each household does it differently and the meal comes with a stocking full of challenges. A moment of silence for every cook in the family who gets up at some ungodly hour to cook up a storm and make sure every relative is happy (and there’s always someone complaining the potatoes aren’t crispy enough).

This festive season will be especially difficult for families struggling through the cost-of-living crisis. Unfortunately, we can’t expect Santa to drop a full Christmas dinner down the chimney, so it’s up to us to bear the costs. At The Big Issue, we wanted to help make sure your day is special – so we teamed up with two of the coolest chefs on the internet to design a Christmas dinner which will barely make a dent in your bank account. Henry Firth and Ian Theasby, better known as BOSH!, create hearty and simple recipes which are adored by hundreds of thousands of people online.

Together, we’ve created a meal which will cost just over £20 and feed an entire family with leftovers. The twist? The Sheffield-born chefs

Robin Ince Is On The Road
My son is the son and heir of a shyness that is criminally vulgar. When he was nine, I wrote a poem after we built a den in the woods. It pondered on whether this would be our final piece of den building (it was). It was only when I first performed i
