SA meat prices fairly firm despite drop in demand

According to the Food Price Index compiled by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the average global price of meat in June 2022 was 14% higher yearon-year and 33% up on June 2020 levels.

Lamb and mutton prices have decreased since November 2021, and beef prices have decreased since March 2022. Poultry prices increased by 25% from February 2022 to June 2022.
