It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Bedford Falls, but not everyone is sharing the festive spirit. Based on the 1946 film It’s a wonderful life, Jake Heggie’s eponymous opera receives its UK premiere in a production by Aletta Collins. Frederick Ballentine is the despairing banker, Danielle de Niese his guardian angel; Nicole Paiement conducts.
