OUR FIGHT to keep your kids safe

Walking up to the normal-looking house, in the normal-looking street, no-one could ever have known the sickening secrets lurking within.

That day in February 2020, my colleagues and I were acting on a tip-off from US police about suspicious social media activity.

Rushing into the address in Wyong, NSW, we arrested a suspect and combed the house, seizing phones and computer equipment.

Back in our offices, we discovered stomach-churning footage stored on the suspect’s phone and USB stick.

Unwittingly, we’d performed the biggest Australian Federal Police (AFP) bust of online child abuse material in Australian history – and uncovered a horrifying child abuse ring.

And Operation Arkstone was born.

Joining the police at 21, I hadn’t been sure I could work in child protection. But after helping on some cases, I soon became passionate about keeping children safe.
