Christmas is meant to be a time for love, peace and joy, but sadly it doesn’t always work out that way.

Calls to domestic-abuse charities rise by as much as 50% over the festive period, with police in England and Wales already receiving more than 100 calls relating to domestic abuse every hour throughout the year.

Family tensions, financial pressure and higher alcohol consumption can all be contributing factors, which can spark physical and emotional abuse around Christmastime.
