agworth and Reprieve are two sons who set Yattendon on the road to stud success. Both were bred by McEvilly while Yattendon was still racing, with Dagworth being foaled in 1868. It was interesting that they raced in a time when country racing was an even more important piece of Australian thoroughbred life. Country clubs would offer rich races that attracted some of the best horses. Dagworth did not race until January of his 3yo season and was beaten into third behind Prodigal in a mile and a half (2400m) maiden at Goulbourn.
