n face value, the obvious point to reflect on with the finishing positions in the 2024 Golden Slipper is that barrier positions are of paramount importance. We see that the first four runners home jumped from barrier six or below. It surely cannot be a coincidence when in 2023, the first five runners home in the race all drew barrier seven or below.
