N Christmas Day, our table is mostly stocked with claret, but my favourite wines will always be Barolos. If I could have any wine on my table this Christmas, it would be Fossati Case Nere Rivera 10 Anni from Roberto Voerzio (£545 for three, Justerini & Brooks; 020–7484 6430; ). The acidity and tannins are perfectly balanced and, given we usually eat red meat or game on Christmas Day, it’s the perfect match.
