COMFORT AND JOY

Gathering a pile of anything with the word ‘twin’ on it, I quickly dumped it all in the bin. Finding a festive bauble, I stared at it before smashing it alongside all of the other items.

Baby twins first Christmas… There was no point in celebrating any more – my heart was broken.

After meeting my husband Chase back in 2017, in Pittsburgh, it wasn’t long before the usual conversation of wanting a family came up – in fact it was after two dates.

Only, after trying to conceive for three long years, with the help of IVF, our hopes of being parents felt as if they were slipping away.

Taking home tests was a familiar scene, and due to the fertility medication that I was on, the test would always show two lines – we had to wait until the second line became dark. Yet, it never did.
