When Steve Oliver, the CEO of Royal Alloy, asked if I fancied going to the international motorbike exhibition in Cologne, it sounded like a fair enough offer. As it was the first proper fair (curse you, Covid!) where Royal Alloy’s TG has had a public airing and they’d signed up a distributor, Steve wanted to make a bit of a noise about it. Intermot (as it’s officially titled) was also my first taste of ‘behind the scenes’ bike exhibitions.
Steve, Ellie (his daughter) and I flew from Manchester direct to Cologne, and that seemed pretty straightforward. Although we should have realised that an easy flight usually means paying back good fortune with a nightmare…
