Most hunters are self-taught butchers. We cut pieces of deer that get labeled steak, roast, or burger. The more processing we do, the better we get and the easier separating muscle groups into prime cuts, like sirloin tip, inside, outside, and center rounds become. The loins become rib steaks and strip loins.

Setting up a processing center makes it easier to generate the closure and passion for hunting. If you are an avid hunter, it does not take long to pay off meat processing equipment when balanced against the cost of professional processing at a local butcher shop. Perhaps you get together with family and friends to split the costs associated with quality equipment, which allows you to see professional results.
