WALKING TO THE MOON

The early morning is dark and chilly, a brisk 30 degrees, as we head out. I'm bundled - stocking cap, thick coat, mittens - still adjusting to colder weather. June doesn't mind it a bit. She's ready to go.

And so we are off, launched into the familiar unknown of our neighborhood by forty-three pounds of enthusiasm at the end of a leash.
