A hand-built tribal shield is mounted on a wooden wall. Next to it is a tanned leather hide and a spear big and sharp enough to bring down a buffalo, while taxidermied turkey wings hang from the ceiling. It looks like an exhibit in a museum dedicated to Native American history, but it isn’t. This is the bar in Jon Krieger’s house from which he does all his Zoom calls.
“I do taxidermy in my spare time,” he explains, voice deep, standing shirtless in front of the camera with his black hair cascading down. “I do hides and pelts and European mounts. My whole house looks like this, but this has become my little interview corner.”
